Carroll County Artists Studio Tour!

Saturday December 1, and Sunday December 2,  2012    Open 10am till5pm

Thistledown Farm Pottery will be participating in the 6th Annual Studio Tour!  I will be hosting three artists at my studio and gallery.  Kelsey Wailes, Linda Van Hart and Joyce Schaum will be here to offer beautiful crafts for you to buy!  Kelsey Wailes will have a very eclectic collection of ware to offer, including fine art prints and amazing sculpture.  Her renown sculptures run the gamut from adorable ornaments for cell phones, charms and necklaces, to a very popular line of Doctor Who inspired figures that are internationally recognized and sought after.  Her ware will delight people of all ages. Check out her art at her website on Deviant Art:    Linda Van Hart is a very well known artist and creates amazing jewelry and more from sterling and gold.  The intricate detail of her work is astounding.  Her work can be seen on her website at:     Joyce Schaum is a basket maker unlike any basket maker you have seen before.  Her eye for balance, texture, and color is delightful.  Her style incorporates traditional methods but the finished product will fit in beautifully in contemporary as well as classic settings.  She also does chairs with woven seats as well as stools.  She will offer baskets of all sizes, so you will be sure to find a piece that is just what you are looking for.

Thistledown Farm Pottery will hold the Annual Seconds Sale!  I will have quite a few pieces for sale, as I have had some nasty kiln problems this year that produced some minor imperfections in the finished ware. Most of these imperfections are so small that only I know what’s wrong with them!  But I discount these pieces by a lot.  They go fast, so be here when we open at 10am Saturday for first dibs!  I will also have an inventory reduction sale on select pieces…first come, first served.

I will have a handicapped parking space marked, and my studio and gallery are both wheelchair accessible.  There will also be yummy refreshments and light fare served!  Let’s hope for nice weather…and I hope to see a lot of familiar faces and new ones too!  Thank you for supporting our local artists…we all appreciate your patronage so very much.

and on to the next one!

Whew! Today is “catch-up” day….not being home for three days means lots of chores. As soon as I have caught up, it’s back into the Studio again.
Thank you to everyone who came out to The Mistletoe Mart! A very pleasant and gracious atmosphere made participating in this show a real pleasure. A special thank you to my wonderful husband TR and fantastic daughter Kelsey for helping me out at the show and giving me a hand at tear-down time. You guys are great.
I’ll be sending out info to everyone on my mailing list about the next show…The Studio Tour…very soon. I’ll try to post photos of new stuff as it comes out of the kilns. Keep checking back!

The Mistletoe Mart

This is the last day at The Mistletoe Mart! I have been having such a nice time seeing so many familiar faces…I have been participating in this show off and on for 26 years. Having Kelsey with me at the show is almost surreal…in 1989 I was doing this show while I was pregnant with her! She still loves to visit the crafters just as much now as she did when she was a toddler…and they can’t get over the fact that she’s now 22 and an artist in her own right now! Time sure does fly…
We’ll be open till 5:00 today so stop by to see some wonderful artists and do some Holiday shopping!
